What is RoastMyProd?

RoastMyProd is a community-driven feedback platform where builders get honest, detailed reviews of their products from other creators. Instead of asking friends who might sugarcoat feedback, you get actionable insights from people who understand what it takes to build great products.

How is this different from other feedback platforms?

Unlike generic review sites or paid testing services:

Is RoastMyProd free to use?

Yes! The free plan includes all core features: submit up to 3 products, write unlimited reviews, access the community forum, and earn credits. Premium plans (Pro and Business) add benefits like monthly credit bonuses, priority matching, and advanced analytics. See all plans

Do I need to review products to use RoastMyProd?

No, but we encourage it! Reviewing helps in two ways: (1) you earn credits to boost your own products, and (2) seeing other products helps you understand what makes presentations effective. Most active users both submit and review products.

How long does it take to get feedback?

Most products receive their first review within 24-48 hours. Boosted products typically get reviews within a few hours. The speed depends on your product category, how well-optimized your submission is, and current platform activity.

What types of products can I submit?

Almost anything digital or physical:

If you built it and want feedback, submit it!

Can I submit a product that's not launched yet?

Absolutely! Many builders submit MVPs, prototypes, or pre-launch products to get feedback before going public. You can also use the "Draft" feature (Pro/Business plans) to prepare submissions privately.

Can I edit my product after submitting it?

Yes! You can update your product description, screenshots, pricing, and any other details anytime. This is especially useful after implementing feedback and wanting to show improvements.

What makes a review "quality" feedback?

Quality reviews are specific, actionable, and constructive. They identify exact issues, explain impact, suggest solutions, and balance positive + critical feedback. Check our Giving Feedback guide for the framework we recommend.

Can I delete a product?

Yes. Go to your product page and click "Delete Product" in settings. This removes your product and all associated reviews from public view. You can re-submit it later if needed.

What if I disagree with a review?

Reply to the review with your perspective! Polite discussion is encouraged. However, don't argue or get defensive - feedback is subjective. If a review violates our guidelines (spam, harassment, false claims), you can report it.

Credits & Boosting

How do I earn credits?

Multiple ways to earn credits:

  • Write a review: +10 credits
  • Your review gets boosted: +15 credits
  • Refer a friend who submits: +50 credits (both of you)
  • Community engagement: +5 credits for valuable discussions
  • Pro/Business subscription: 200-500 credits/month bonus

Do credits expire?

No! Credits never expire. Save them up and use them strategically for launches or major updates.

What does boosting a product do?

Boosting (50 credits) gives your product 24 hours of premium visibility: featured badge, top positioning in all listings, 3-5x more views, and priority in Smart Matching. It's the fastest way to get more reviews.Learn more

Can I buy credits?

Not directly. Credits are earned through participation to keep the platform community-driven. However, Pro and Business subscriptions include monthly credit bonuses (200 and 500 credits respectively).

How many times can I boost the same product?

As many times as you want! Each boost lasts 24 hours and costs 50 credits. Some builders boost at launch, then re-boost a week later for sustained visibility.

What should I do with my monthly credit bonus?

Pro subscribers get 200 credits/month - enough for 4 product boosts or a mix of product boosts, review boosts, and priority matching. Unused credits roll over for up to 3 months, so you can save up for bigger campaigns.

Account & Subscriptions

How do I upgrade to Pro or Business?

Go to Pricingand select your plan. Both plans include a 7-day free trial, no credit card required upfront. Cancel anytime before the trial ends and you won't be charged.

Can I cancel my subscription anytime?

Yes! Cancel with one click from your account settings. You'll keep access until the end of your billing period, and all earned credits stay in your account forever.

What happens to my credits if I downgrade?

Credits you've earned or received stay with you forever. You just won't receive new monthly credit bonuses at the lower tier level. Your existing credits never disappear.

Do you offer refunds?

We offer a 7-day free trial so you can test premium features risk-free. After that, we provide refunds on a case-by-case basis within 14 days of purchase. Contact support if you're not satisfied.

Can I use RoastMyProd for my team/agency?

Yes! The Business plan includes team collaboration (5 seats), so your team members can manage multiple products under one account. Each team member can submit products, review, and engage with the community.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data. Alternatively, you can just downgrade to the free plan if you want to pause premium features without losing your account.

Community Forum

What's the difference between product reviews and community discussions?

Product reviews are focused feedback on a specific product. Community discussions are broader conversations about product development, growth strategies, feature requests for RoastMyProd, or general topics. Both are valuable but serve different purposes.

How do I earn credits in the community forum?

Post meaningful contributions - answer questions thoroughly, share helpful insights, start valuable discussions. Quality engagement earns +5 credits per contribution. Spam or low-effort posts don't earn credits.

Can I promote my product in the community forum?

Use the "Showcase & Launches" category to share launches and major updates. Don't spam every discussion with product promotion - that's what product submissions are for. Mention your product when contextually relevant to a discussion.

How do I report inappropriate content?

Every post, review, and comment has a report button. Click it and select a reason (spam, harassment, inappropriate content, etc.). Our team reviews reports quickly and takes action when needed.

Technical & Features

How does Smart Reviewer Matching work?

Our AI analyzes your product (category, tags, tech stack, target audience) and matches it with reviewers who have relevant expertise and a track record of quality feedback. Higher match scores mean more relevant reviews.Read the full guide

Can I embed my product reviews on my website?

Yes! Pro and Business plans include embeddable review widgets. Copy the embed code from your product settings and paste it into your website to display reviews and your overall score.

Does RoastMyProd have an API?

Yes! Business plan subscribers get API access to programmatically submit products, retrieve reviews, and integrate RoastMyProd data into their own systems. API documentation is available in your dashboard.

Can I export my reviews and data?

Pro and Business subscribers can export all reviews, analytics, and product data to CSV or JSON. Free users can copy/paste reviews manually.

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS), secure authentication, and regular backups. Your product data is yours - we never sell or share it with third parties. Read our Privacy Policy.

Affiliate Program

How much do affiliates earn?

30% recurring lifetime commission on every referral. You earn $5.70/month for each Pro subscriber and $14.70/month for each Business subscriber - every month they stay subscribed. Learn more

When do I get paid?

Payouts are processed monthly (on the 1st) via PayPal or Stripe. Minimum payout is $50. If you don't hit the minimum, earnings roll over to the next month.

Do I need to be a RoastMyProd user to join the affiliate program?

No, but we recommend it. The best affiliates are genuine users who can authentically share their experience. It's free to join regardless.

Can I run ads with my affiliate link?

Yes, but you cannot bid on RoastMyProd branded keywords (e.g., "RoastMyProd", "Roast My Prod") in paid search campaigns. Other targeting methods are fine.
